How do I update the options on my published file? - Orangedox Help Post

This guide shows you how to update the settings for an existing published file in Orangedox.

You’ll learn how to change the header text, review the source files, and adjust publishing options like disabling downloading and updating passwords.

Edit header title and description

Modify the header title and description shown at the top of the published file.

Use this if you want to update the way your files are published without having to change your published links.

View source files

Select Source Files to see which Google Drive or Dropbox files are published. Clicking a file opens it directly in Drive or Dropbox.

This is useful when you want to confirm exactly which files are included in the published link.

Edit publish options

Under Options, you can

  1. Enable or disable downloads
  2. View or update password settings (Web Publish only)

Best Practices

Be Concise

Keep the header title and description clear and concise.

Review Source Files

Review source files before publishing access, so you know exactly what is published.

Disable Downloading

Disable downloading for content that should only be viewed online, helping you keep your content trackable.

Password Protection

Use a password when you want an extra layer of protection.

Check the Published Links

Check the published links after making updates to confirm everything looks correct.

Summary

You can update a published file by editing its header title and description, reviewing the source files, and adjusting publish options like disabled downloading and password settings. These options help you control how your published content is delivered and presented.
