
How do I remove a data room?

This guide explains how to disable or permanently remove a data room in Orangedox and depending on your needs, you can either temporarily disable access while keeping your data and metrics, or fully delete the data room and associated metrics.

Disabling a Data Room
Disabling a data room allows you to revoke access for all participants without deleting the data room or its metrics.
To disable a data room
- Go to the Data Rooms app
- Locate the data room you want to disable
- Click the three dots next to the data room
- Select Disable
Once disabled - All participant access is immediately revoked
- The data room is no longer accessible from any access link
- All analytics and activity data are preserved
This is useful if
- You want to temporarily restrict access
- A project has ended but you want to keep records
- You may need to re-enable access later
Deleting a Data Room
Removing a data room will permanently delete it, including all associated metrics and activity data.
To remove a data room
- Go to the Data Rooms app
- Locate the data room you want to remove
- Click the three dots next to the data room
- Select Remove
Once removed
- The data room is permanently deleted
- All participant access is revoked
- All analytics and metrics are deleted
Note: This action cannot be undone.
This is useful if
- The data room is no longer needed
- You want to permanently remove sensitive data access
- You do not need to retain activity history
