Introducing Access Request Links

Introducing Access Request Links - Orangedox Blog Post

Today, Orangedox is introducing a new way to invite people into your data rooms: Access Request Links.

Inviting people into a virtual data room has always been a tradeoff between speed and control. Most tools require that you manually add every recipient's email before you can share access, or send your recipients one off unique links that can be painful to manage.

With Access Request Links, you can now share a single secure link with your entire list. Users can request access with their email, and you decide who gets in, no manual pre entry, and no messy spreadsheets or one-off access links.

How it works

  1. You recipient clicks the access request data room link.
  2. They are prompted with a request screen asking for their email.
  3. You get a confirmation message letting you know they require access.
  4. You can approve access or simply ignore the request.
  5. Once access is approved the recipient receives an access link.
  6. No requirement to create an account, no friction, just an simple workflow.

Why this Matters for Teams

Access Request Links are designed for teams that run structured but high volume processes.

Fundraising

Add a single link to your data room, great for investor outreach email or follow ups. Any investor who is actually interested requests access, and you keep full control over who sees the deck and diligence docs.

M&A and Strategic Deals

Share one link with multiple bidders or partners. As interest grows, you handle access at the pace of the deal.

Enterprise Sales and Partnerships

Gate your technical documentation, pricing, and legal docs behind an access request. Recipients who are serious can self select, while you still keep the room private.

You stop wasting time inviting people who don't care, and focus on the ones who actually request access.

Security and Control is still Paramount

Self‑serve requests does not mean open access. Access Request Links respect the same security controls you already rely on in Orangedox:

Approval Required

No one gets in without your explicit approval. Every request needs to be vetted by you, there's no automatic access.

Device Locked Access

Once a participant is approved and opens the data room, their access is locked to their device.

You get the convenience of a single link with the oversight of a gatekeeper.
